Actually, the Mass Effect expedition has a pivotal effect. Jahne being around Averia VII for so long alters their perspective of each other whereas Claire being away and then coming back alters their perspective of her.
They end up getting together not long after Claire is recalled from the Mass Effect Galaxy since the situation there has stabilised and they are no longer on an aggressive war footing.
Lord Hedgeborough is the first to notice something changing, and he bets big on the three of them with the Dia-Farron-operated secret betting pool. He ends up earning enough to buy his own solar system (yeah, he bet big and won big). To celebrate, he buys himself some of his favourite snacks (which are also Jahne’s favourite snacks) and makes sure to eat them in front of her after making sure her favourite places to buy them from are sold out (because he bought them all).
